Founded in 1968, the mission of Lions Club International Foundation is to "empower Lions clubs, volunteers, and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives globally, and encourage peace and international understanding." For more than 50 years, LCIF has dedicated its energies to increasing the ability of Lions everywhere, helping them empower the communities they serve. With every grant LCIF gives, its history grows, along with the impact of Lions.

Leaders Dogs for the Blind’s mission is empowering people who are blind or visually impaired with lifelong skills for safe and independent daily travel.
Leader Dogs for the Blind is 100% philanthropically funded by individual donors, Lions clubs, corporate partners and foundations. Their programs are designed to provide clients with the tools and training to reintroduce them to a life of confidence, safety and independence. Through their full-range of services—Guide Dog Training, Orientation & Mobility Training and Summer Experience Camp—they meet the mobility needs of clients at every stage of their lives.

World Services for the Blind is one of a kind. By offering life skills and career training programs in one location, they are the most comprehensive rehabilitation center for people who are blind or visually impaired. Their approach allows students to receive services tailored specifically to their needs. From essential life skills that ensure an individual’s ability to live independently to technology based career-path programs designed to provide students with the knowledge and hands-on experience that will allow them to compete in today’s high-tech job market, their programs put students on the path to sustainable independence.

Lions have supported Canine Companions® since its founding in 1975. The Lions Project for Canine Companions (LPCC), a Lions foundation, was formed in 1983 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization creating awareness and providing support for Canine Companions®, a non-profit organization that provides expertly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.
LPCC is comprised of an all-volunteer Board of Directors, Area Directors and Trustees who devote their time in making Lions all over the United States aware of this magnificent program. Our support has grown with Lions Clubs from California to Maine. Currently Lions Clubs and individual Lions in 26 states support the program. Our goal is to have Lions Clubs in every state participate in this worthwhile program that provides exceptional dogs for exceptional people.
