Lions Camp Summer 2025 Dates Posted
Hey Hey!!! Come Check Out our Dates for Summer 2025!!! The Camper Applications will open the first week in January!!
The 2025 Schedule has a number of exciting and innovative features to meet the expanding needs of the TLC family:
Back by popular demand but leading off the schedule in 2025, will be our exciting Family Stay-n-Play program combining family camp with the residential youth camp. Families will reside at TLC, and qualifying campers will be engaged in a program designed especially for them during the day, and then will rejoin their family for evening programming for the whole family.
Next up, our "regular", residential youth camps for children with physical disabilities, ages 7-16 will be held. (No families at camp these weeks).
We will then host Camp David and a session for children who have Down Syndrome.
The next two weeks will see the return Dr. Ponder and the medical team and are set aside for our campers who have type-1 diabetes.
Camp Discovery will then be back in the house. A one-of-a-kind experience for children who have cancer or are in remission.
Finally, we will end the summer with our innovative program for families.
Start makin' your plans now! The 2025 Summer Season will be here before you know it.

Celebrating Dia de los Muertos with El Barrio Lions Club!
Celebrating Dia de los Muertos with the El Barrio Lions Club
What a beautiful rainy morning honoring the traditions of Dia de los Muertos with our friends from the El Barrio Lions Club. We immersed ourselves in the rich cultural heritage, from vibrant altars to colorful decorations, remembering and celebrating those who came before us. We even learned how to play Lotería, the Mexican bingo game full of symbolism and fun!
A huge thank you to El Barrio Lions Club for sharing their culture and traditions with us. Here’s to honoring our roots, learning together, and celebrating the beautiful diversity that makes our community so strong! #DiaDeLosMuertos #CommunityCelebration

Mailing Collected Eyeglasses
Ship Your Collected Recycled Eyeglasses to TLERC Free of Charge
Did you know that you can mail your Club’s collected eyeglasses to the Texas Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center in Midland, Texas for free??? You sure can; I just mailed a box from the Amarillo downtown post office yesterday, and I’m sending two more today. Just package the eyeglasses up in a banker size box or smaller and place a label with the correct wording on it, and most post offices should accept the box for shipment. I generally print out the instructions and take them with me so that the post office clerk can read over it if they are not familiar with this service. You can find the instructions and labels here or anytime under the Lions’ Causes tab on the navigation bar under State Level and then under Texas Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center. D.G. Chris Rogers

There have been a couple of updates to the system recently that you may find helpful. First of all, you can now duplicate a service activity and second, you can now add pictures to the service activity.
